Spain: Wildfire Near La Bisbal d’Empordà Forces Thousands to Shelter in Place

A wildfire broke out near La Bisbal d'Empordà in the Baix Empordà region of Catalonia, Spain, on Friday, July 3, driven by strong winds. Around 9,700 residents across several municipalities were ordered to shelter in place, with the fire burning over 2,300 hectares and remaining out of control.
